Our Purpose

The purpose of this Association shall be to represent the Rural Letter Carrier in all dealings between the U.S. Postal Service and the public. It shall be fraternal and for the study of the best methods of performing the duties of the rural delivery service, to seek improvement of the working conditions of all rural letter carriers and to cooperate with the U.S. Postal Service for the betterment of the service.

The active membership of the Association shall be composed of regular rural letter carriers, rural letter carriers who are called to active duty in the Armed Forces of our country, provided they were members of the State Rural Letter Carriers Association at the time of entry into the Armed Forces, (PTF) part time flexible rural carriers, auxiliary rural letter carriers. substitute rural letter carriers, RCR/RCA employees. rural carriers who have been retired on annuity, and former rural letter carriers or substitutes who were in good Association standing when they left the service.

The Iowa Rural Letter Carriers’ Association is an affiliate of the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association.
